Since he was our first baby, I did a lot of reading on parenting styles, sleep solutions, etc. I feel positive that it was during my consumption of Elizabeth Pantley’s “No-Cry Sleep Solution” that I first came across Snoedel. I was immediately fascinated at how the mother’s scent was captured by the Snoedel and how the baby could smell the mother on the Snoedel. I also read on your Snoedel website that some ospitals encourage the use of a Snoedel im preemies in hopes tht the feeling or sense of closeness to the mother helped these wee ones to thrive. Well, I was sold. I ordered our first Snoedel when Trent was 4 months old. Every time he got hold of Snoedel he would bring him to his face so he could smell him while he sucked his thumb. This was our recipe for sleep.” |

But nothing could have prepared me for him being colicky for the first 4 months of his life. Those were the most nerve-racking heart-breaking months of my life. If he was not sleeping on me or breastfeeding, he was crying….all day and all night for 4 months. That’s when I went online and looked up as many things as I could regarding colicky babies and how to help sooth them. I found Snoedel’s website and thought I’d try introducing a “lovey” to Jadon. Although his colic continued, he adopted Snoedel right away as his best friend. He sleeps with it every night now and carries it with The one time Snoedel ended up being a life-saver was when |

Bethany McCarty wrote, “My son Sam was born 9 1/2 weeks premature in April 2006. He was born less than 3 lbs. and was in the NICU of Harrisburg Hospital for 36 days. He eventually came home exactly one month before his actual due date. While he was in the NICU, the wonderful nurses decided to provide him with a Snoedel for bonding purposes since we couldn’t hold him much in the beginning. Well, he just turned two years old, is doing fabulously well, and is still VERY attached to his Snoedel. He calls it his ‘Wubbie.’ It has to go everywhere with him and he’s actually already gone through two of them, as durable as they are! Needless to say, the Snoedel has been an amazing asset for us and our son through some very hard times. Thank you for making such a fabulous product!” |

Katie Gifford wrote, ”When my daughter Emilia was born one month early, she was taken to the Special Care Nursery because of some breathing problems. I wasn’t able to hold her and cuddle her the way I’d anticipated for the nine months I was pregnant and so many years before. And it broke my heart. The hospital I was at provided me with a Snoedel. (I have to say I was more than a little shocked they would do such an unconventional thing.) My nurse told me to wear it, to make it smell like me. The first time I was able to hold my little girl was magical. And then having to put her back into the incubator was so difficult. I watched as her nurse draped the Snoedel over her tiny body and felt better, knowing that I was still there with her, keeping her warm and safe. That simple flannel cloth doll helped me deal with a difficult situation just as much as it helped my baby. She’s now a happy and healthy 10 month old, who sleeps with her Snoedel every night and for every nap.
Thanks for helping keep me near my little girl when I couldn’t be.” |
Karen Rafferty wrote, “I have an 11 month old son named Noah. For much of his short little life, my husband and I struggled to establish healthy sleep habits for him, but he has not made it easy. We finally have things under control, thanks in large part to his little snoedel friend. The snoedel gives him something to snuggle with, to chew on, to play with and to just keep him company. When I lay Noah down for a nap or for bedtime, he automatically throws his hands up waiting for me to give him his snoedel and as soon as I do, he’s all set. When he wakes up in the morning, he starts playing with his snoedel which keeps him happy and occupied until I can get in to get him up for the day. I love the snoedel and am telling all my friends about it any chance I get." |
